A few things to help the Noobs out there.

*Duct tape will peel off most things, such as the non-sticky side of itself, and skin. It is much harder, however, to get duct tape unstuck when it is stuck sticky side to sticky side. Be careful!

*Don't try to stick long strips to themselves, it usually doesn't work.

*Always make the strips for your project longer than the final thing is going to be. You will have to cut it shorter.

*Don't throw away your mistake pieces while you are still working! You may be able to use it for something, if only just to un-gook whatever you are cutting with.

*Duct tape + long hair = trouble. Got long hair? Pull it back.

*Duct tape is thick, and it's heavy. Keep that in mind while doing your project.

*Nailpolish gets ruined while working with duct tape.

*There are many ways to make the same things.

*Think things through before you do them. You may want to sketch a design or something. If you are using a tutorial, print it out and save yourself some effort.

*Carry something made out of duct tape around? Be prepared for questions

*Duct tape doesn't like to curve. If you are going to do something with curves, make it bigger and cut.

*Get too many layers, your duct tape project won't stay folded. Be careful.

*If you are making a bag of some sort, you can never have too much reinforcement on the inside and such. Especially if it will be used for books or other heavy materials.

*Some brands of tape are better than others. Period.

There will be periodic updates to this, and feel free to add some!

Awesome tips, I must say!
Also,

-Make sure the area that you are working on is clean, and as free from hairs and such as possible. Oh and duct tape and working on carpet=not a good mix! I made that mistake when I made my first purse, not a good idea.

:D

cool tips

a few to add on...
try not to bite off the tape too much, causes lips to bleed
if your fingers are stuck to the tape, try releasing one hand, then holding the sides so you can release your other hand
if you cut with scissors, they get dull quick... glass jar, like a jelly jar. cut the jar like you would paper. it sharpens the scissors
